GlitterComm is a virtual tabletop application to play RPGs. It's designed to play the world's most popular roleplaying game but it can be used to play almost any RPG.

New version, new installer
The new installer will install all that is necessary for GlitterComm (DirectX coming soon!), it will create shortcut icons in your Start menu, and it plays along nicely with Add/Remove Programs.
New installers will upgrade what is necessary without you having to uninstall anything as long as you install in the same folder. In any case, it won't make a mess in your Add/Remove Programs entries.
UPGRADERS: Please note that folder structure has changed! Install in a different folder and move files to its respective location for a clean GlitterComm structure. The move is obvious except for one: GCMaster.ini, GCPlayer.ini, and Player's macros files go into the Data folder.
Major snafu
There are some issues with the installer. It will either work or not work for you. You can download the current installer if you want, but I'll be uploading a new installer in the next week.
If anything, the new installer will be chummy with Add/Remove Programs and will create a group of icons in your Start menu. I'm still not keen in integrating the 60MB of DirectX with it, so I'll keep pointing you to Microsoft's website for that.
Minor snafu
I forgot to change the internal versioning scheme. It's fixed now.
Because public Beta versions won't be coming fast and furious as before, and changes will be minor, starting with this one they will be compatible between them. That means they will talk between (future) different versions. So now you can still play even if not everybody upgrades to new versions.
Just like with maps, if something drastic changes I will specify the incompatibility in the download page.
GlitterComm Beta 2007.08.23
A new version? Yes, I said the last one was going to be the last, but while I was plodding forward I fixed a couple of bugs and there is no reason not to have the fix in the public Beta.
Besides, the Beta version will eventually morph into the Demo version, so I'll keep updating it if there is any change or fix to what is already being shown.
Remember to update your DirectX, the latest is the August update. Never mind that the website says DirectX10, if you are using Windows XP it will redirect to the correct download.
GlitterComm Beta 2007.08.09
Who? What? "But it's not Friday" you say.
Yes, a new version is up. This version marks the end of the beta stage.
There will be no more public updates until the release version is ready.
Bugs have been ironed out and only a couple of features need to be finished.
I'll leave this beta online until the release of v1.0, at which time I'll
replace it with a demo version for people to try out.
Enough of this! Grab a copy and organize a game; don't let the distance
between your players hinder your having a good gaming session.
GlitterComm Beta 2007.08.03
New version is up. A major bug, that could make the program crash when changing maps, was fixed.
A bucket icon appears instead the talk bubble when the GameMaster is using the Reveal Lasso,
informing eveybody he is busy and probably won't be able to respond right away.
And lastly, custom maps replaced the previous ones; now all art in the package is custom.
Game away!
