GlitterComm Beta v0.07.0919

This new version is user profile friendly; now your game data is stored in a folder called GlitterComm under your Documents folder, so every user can have their own set of data. It also never touches the installation folder, which will make Windows Vista happy if you install under Program Files, which is the default now.

To accomplish that it means upgraders need to move their folders to the new location, click here for instructions. If you are not an upgrader go right ahead and get it now.

GlitterComm Beta v0.07.0914

A new version is up for your gaming pleasure. Among other tidbits, there are two important bug fixes:

  • The first one fixes a bug that was making the interaction with the map jerky when running in Windows Vista.

  • The second one fixes a bug that could make the program crash when switching back from another application.

The ultimate installer

This is it, the ultimate installer! Usually I'd have waited until Friday to post it, but the sooner people stop having an error message when they run GlitterComm the better.

No more downloading the humongous DirectX from Microsoft's website. This new setup will upgrade your DirectX if it needs to, it will install GlitterComm, create shortcuts in the Programs menu and, if you want, on the desktop too.

From now on, if you feel like backing up your GlitterComm data, you go right ahead and do that: backup the "Data" folder. If you ever want to restore it, like after an OS reinstall, copy the folder back and you are set.

UPGRADERS: Don't forget to install in the same folder. And move your player macros to the "Data" folder—there was a bug in the previous version and it was still reading them from the installation root.
